Guides

The 30th Reading (Park) Guides meet at Park United Reformed Church on Thursday evenings during school term time.

Guides is open to girls aged 10-14 and we have an active and varied weekly programme, with a team of wonderful leaders. We go on holidays, we attended ‘WINGS 2009’ an international jamboree with Guides and Scouts from all round the world.  We like to think we are quite a sporty lot, and enjoy playing rounders and football in Palmer Park, going bowling and swimming.  guides

We have had a chocolate fondue and as you can see from the photos, some of us got a bit sticky but it was loads of fun.

Along with Go For It’s, badges, Church Parade and taking part in the Disability Awareness challenge and the Cupboard Technology Challenge we are pretty giudesbusy but having a brill time in the process.

In 2010 a group of us went to Switzerland as part of the special activities for the Centenary celebrations, 100 years since the beginning of Guiding.

If you think you would like to join us, as a Guide or as a Leader, please contact  guides@parkurc.org.uk

Guides are aged 10-14, and Young Leaders from 14 upwards.
